Veterans Service Officers: free
Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) work for groups like the DAV, the VFW and the American Legion, and for state and county veterans offices. They are accredited by VA and don't charge veterans.
Accredited attorneys and claims agents
Accredited attorneys and claims agents can also help. They may charge for help with the next step, within limits set by VA.
Check that someone is accredited
Before you share your information, look the person up in VA's accreditation search.
Letting a representative act for you
To let a representative work on your claim with VA, you sign VA Form 21-22 (for a Veterans Service Organization) or VA Form 21-22a (for an attorney or claims agent). Your representative can help you fill it out.
What VetEZ Claim does
VetEZ Claim is a free assistive tool, from VetClaims Alliance, a nonprofit. It helps you fill out official forms that you review, sign and send yourself. Using it doesn't make us your representative, and we don't give advice about your own claim. Generally, only VA Accredited representatives may legally represent and assist you with claims and appeals before the VA.
